Crack the word in Wordle
Wordle is the daily-style word puzzle that took the world by storm. You have six guesses to find a hidden five-letter word. After each guess the letter tiles turn green, yellow or grey to tell you how close you are — and here you can play as many rounds as you like.

Tips to play better
Open with vowel-rich words
Starters like ADIEU, AUDIO or RAISE test several common vowels and letters at once, so the very first clue tells you a lot.
Spend guess two on new letters
Instead of reusing greens immediately, try a second word packed with fresh common consonants like T, N, S, L and C.
Mind double letters
Don't forget words can repeat a letter. If clues stall, test a word with a doubled vowel or consonant.
Keep yellows, move them
A yellow letter is in the word — just not there. Place it somewhere new on your next try rather than dropping it.
About Wordle
Wordle was created by software engineer Josh Wardle for his partner, and quietly released to the public in October 2021. Its once-a-day format and shareable coloured-square results turned it into a global craze within months, and The New York Times acquired it in early 2022.
The puzzle is a beautiful piece of deduction. With only six guesses and 26 letters, every clue is precious — strong players treat the game as an information-gathering problem, choosing words that eliminate the most possibilities rather than chasing a lucky hit. There is real strategy in which letters you test and when.
This Unicode edition renders every tile and the on-screen keyboard as crisp characters, and lets you play unlimited rounds instead of waiting for tomorrow. Guesses are checked against a dictionary of common words, and your current streak lives in your browser.
